This is a helpful tool for smaller bulbs and if the soil is in relatively good shape. Our soil has a lot of clay in it, so I had a little trouble pushing this into the ground. I also wished the handle on top was wider so I could hold the handles and push with my entire hands; I was basically pushing with my palms, and they got sore.

I ordered it through Amazon. It's an English invention for planting really small bulbs or plants in two inch containers..Makes it SO easy to tuck plants in between other plants. It was pricy but worth every cent . Definitely a wonderful addition to my garden tools.

This is a thing of beauty, functional but sculptural. I bought it last spring to plant freesia bulbs. I was delighted to unwrap it and and hold it in my hands. It's solid oak w/ a metal wrapped tip. It made planting the bulbs an effortless task (they were in containers and the soil was soft, but still) and was as much a pleasure to look at as to use.
